1. Permitted Uses
- Creating missing person cases for a genuinely missing individual with that person's or their guardian's authorization;
- Submitting good-faith tips based on information you have honestly observed or received;
- Organizing and participating in legitimate community search parties;
- Accessing law enforcement features in your official capacity as an authorized agency representative;
- Developing applications via the API in accordance with the API Terms of Service.
2. Strictly Prohibited Uses
- Stalking or tracking: Using the platform to locate, monitor, or track any individual against their will or without lawful authority;
- False reports: Creating a missing person case for someone who is not missing, or submitting fabricated tips;
- Harassment: Using any feature to harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm any person;
- Unauthorized impersonation: Claiming to be law enforcement, a family member, or a victim without authorization;
- Doxxing: Publishing private personal information about individuals without consent;
- Child exploitation: Any content that exploits or endangers minors;
- Commercial misuse: Using the platform for advertising, solicitation, or commercial gain unrelated to the platform's mission;
- Circumventing controls: Attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, or access controls;
- Malware: Uploading files containing malicious code, viruses, or exploits.
3. Content Standards
All content submitted to the platform must be: accurate to the best of your knowledge; relevant to a missing person case or search effort; free of hate speech, slurs, or content targeting individuals based on protected characteristics; and compliant with all applicable laws.
4. Prohibited Users
The following persons may not use the platform: individuals convicted of stalking, domestic violence, or crimes against children; individuals subject to restraining orders against a person they seek to locate through the platform; and persons using the platform on behalf of a prohibited user.
5. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in: content removal; account suspension or permanent ban; reporting to law enforcement; and civil or criminal legal action. We reserve the right to take action at our sole discretion. We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.
6. Reporting Violations
If you observe a violation of this policy, report it through our contact page with as much detail as possible. We review all reports and act as warranted. Reporting in good faith will not result in any adverse action against the reporter.
